Ok, so I know I’m terribly late on positing this…but better late than never, right? 2015 was an amazing year of growth for me in so many ways, I accomplished things I never thought I was capable of and did things I never thought I could do. So with that I am sharing a few of my most favorite moments of 2015 and a lot of pictures from my Instagram. Happy 2016 everyone, may this year hold everything you desire and more.
I have kept a journal for really as long as I can remember, so for me blogging was always about the writing, it’s therapeutic and a form of expression in so many ways. The topics are just something that really flowed naturally for me, but this really is more of a journal post… of which I hope to be doing more frequently.
Lately, I have been feeling extremely anxious, its nature in me to be proactive…I’m constantly looking ahead, planning my next project, big idea or trying to prepare for the future. In many ways I like this side of me, but I think lately it has lead to this all of a sudden anxiety I’ve been having. At 22, I think its natural to wonder where life is taking you. If you haven’t noticed by now I by no means have a conventional career, but it’s one i’m so proud of. One of my main goals in this life is to create something bigger than myself, I want to CREATE, light people up, I want to inspire others and constantly push myself to be the best version of myself. This december will be a year since I graduated from FSU and instead of looking back with pride, I have never felt more anxious or unsure of my future… but why? I worry daily about bills, saving money, if my business will be successful, opening another store, if that store will be successful, will I find my soulmate, will I have the big life I envision for myself, will I live up to my own expectations…blah, blah, blah. Now i’m rambling…but seriously the list could go on and on. I was talking with my sister this Saturday at lunch and we were talking about what she would name her “unborn” children haha. Trust me all girls do this… and I said can you please hurry up and have babies, I want another niece or nephew. She replied with, “not for a while, I want to enjoy being married.” When we were dating people wanted to know when we would get engaged, when we were engaged people wanted to know when we were getting married… now that we are married everyone wants to know when we will have kids, there’s always the expectation of what’s next. In some roundabout way this clicked with me.
Kasey: “Instead of always worrying about what’s next, or wishing away today…why not be thankful for the season of your life that you’re in now” Thinking to myself one day I will look back and wish I was there again. I spend so much of my time wishing for tomorrow, next week, or next year.
“Instead of stressing about another store location, celebrate the fact of a thriving one. A thriving growing business, what’s more of a testament that i’m doing things right than that.
With that, I can’t help but bring up the topic of faith. Why not have such a faith in the process of it all that instead of worrying about the future I relish in the present…knowing that life won’t just work itself out, but it will exceed my expectations. Have faith in whatever season you’re in at this time in your life.
I’m not an anxious person, I’m a confident person, secure of who I am and the idea that every step i’m taking now is one that will lead me to where I want to be.. and where i’m supposed to be.
Be thankful. Be present. Be proud of how far you’ve come and have faith in what is.

Today I am sharing some of my summertime haircare routine and most coveted tips for keeping your hair beautiful and healthy in the summertime. This post will be especially helpful for all the Blondies out there. During the summertime I am always always in sun and it can absolutely take a toll on your hair (especially mine because I have VERY light blonde hair). I hope y’all enjoy this post, comment below any products or tips you use to keep your hair healthy in the summertime.
1.) Moroccan Oil Treatment is a product I use year round but I find myself reaching for it even more during the summer months. This product is AMAZING. It has so many nutrients that your hair needs to shine, and really brings out the best in your hair. Blonde hair, especially Bleach blonde hair is THIRSTY (that is why blonde hair takes longer to blow dry and get dry). I use this when styling my hair and after washing it for that extra shine. I have the 0.85 fl. oz and it has lasted me months, an investment I highly recommend.
2.) Hair Revive, this is another product I add into my vitamin routine in the summertime. I can 110% see the benefits of this using this product regularly. It is SO important to take an all natural hair supplement, especially as we get older hair loss is much more frequent. I take this along with hairfinity to keep my hair healthy and growing all year long.
3.) Paul Mitchell Sun Shield I have already mentioned this product once but it is an absolute MUST HAVE for me in the summertime. While in the sun you should always wear a hat to protect your hair and face but I am guilty of not always following this rule. I always have this with me when I know I am going to be in the sun, it’s basically sunscreen for your hair. If you are at the beach and get your hair wet, it even has a conditioning agent that helps protect your hair from the salt.
4.) Paul Mitchell Blonde Shampoo If you can’t tell by now I am a Paul Mitchell junkie, but I blame my amazing hair stylist, they are a full service Paul Mitchell based salon. I use this shampoo every other time I wash my hair, it helps draw out all the brassy and gold tones you can sometimes get from being in the sun. This is a great product for blondies or anyone with blonde tones to help keep your blonde bright and fresh looking.
Hi loves, how great is this printed Mini?? I can’t help but feel like I am somewhat channeling my inner 60’s fashionista, all I need is a pair of GoGo boots. Not a whole lot of thought went into this outfit, the dress does all the talking for me… so I kept it simple with a Nude bag and shoes and a few fun bracelets. I hate to cut this post short but has been one of the busiest weeks for Deep Southern, not to mention the week before the fourth of July (my favorite Holiday) so I’m keeping it short and simple today. Hope y’all enjoyed this look as much as I did.
Today I am bringing you my first ever blogger interview, allow me to introduce my beautiful friend Stefanie Eadie from According to Blaire. If you don’t know who she is you obviously don’t have an instagram… or may be living under a rock. I am so excited to share this post with you guys because it shares a little insight into the world of blogging. So without further or due here is what this gorgeous gal has to share with you all. Everyone so check her out here at According to Blaire to see my interview and give her a follow on Instagram: @accordingtoblaire
If you could pass on one piece of fashion advice to readers, what would it be?
I would definitely encourage readers to not be afraid to express
themselves and try something new. I think fashion is what is current, trendy,
what everyone else is wearing, but style is personal. Style is what
sets you apart and what makes you different. I also don’t think you have
to have only one style… you can always change it up!
How and why did you get started blogging?
We recently moved away from our hometown of Indianapolis, IN to Richmond, VA. My husband got a great job opportunity that we couldn’t pass up and it also allows me to stay home with our daughter.I worked in retail management for 5 years after graduating from Indiana University, but finally feel like I’m doing something in my field now that I’m blogging. I got to spend two years
designing my own clothing and making my pieces come to life. I really
feel that that particular experience drew me to start blogging about
fashion and beauty because I feel like I have such a deep understanding
of clothing and textiles.
How long have you been blogging?
I have only been blogging for a little while, less than a year. I came
across so many amazing fashion accounts on Instagram and it really
inspired me to start @accordingtoblaire (named after my two year old
daughter, Blaire). From there I got interest about what I was wearing
and felt a blog would really allow me to express myself and share my
style with the world.
What is your favorite/least favorite thing about blogging?
My favorite thing is making friends with other bloggers. The fashion blogging network is amazing and people really support each other. I also really like collaborating with new companies. My least favorite thing is the fact that I don’t have a good camera yet, so I either use my phone or my go-pro. Still trying to figure out exactly which camera to get!
Your top 3 staple wardrobe pieces for the summer?
A good tote bag that can fit all your stuff. A good pair of white jeans that fit well. And a pair of neutral wedges!
Which social media platform are you most active on?
I have always been an instagram-addict. I started with my personal
account, @PrincessofYorki and I really wanted to start an instagram to feature my
OOTD. I love my daughter’s name, and she’s so opinionated that I
thought it would be fun to call my fashion instagram
@AccordingtoBlaire. I love how simple instagram is and the power that it
has to reach people. I love that it’s picture based, with little
wording, but still enough to get your point across.
Top 3 stores you usually shop?
Nordstrom, Gap and H&M!
One piece of advice you could pass on to a new blogger or someone
thinking of starting a blog?
Just do it! It’s really fun, it’s addicting, and I’ve actually “met”
so many great people through blogging. There are girls I have met that
I do Instagram giveaways with, girls that I text on the reg, and so
many of them I would actually hang out with if we lived anywhere near
each other. It’s an amazing community and you get so much other
support from other bloggers.
One random fact about you?
I’m addicted to HGTV and the Food Network!
The story behind this Gypsy Glam dress is actually pretty funny. As y’all know I was in Atlanta for mart this past weekend, and to my surprise heard Kenny Chesney was at the Georgia Dome Saturday night on his Big Revival Tour. Being the country music fanatic I am…at lunch Saturday afternoon I decided to browse stub hub just to see if there were any tickets available. Somehow, I think by the grace of God himself we managed to score 3 front row tickets, I was literally having a panic attack in the Cheesecake Factory. My first thought was OMG what am I going to wear, I didn’t come prepared for this. How ironic is it that 3 girls that own a clothing store had nothing to wear, but luckily we were at Lennox Mall and went shopping. I actually ended up wearing an outfit I had brought but found this gorgeous dress in the process of raiding Forever 21 for ONLY $27.90, it totally reminds me of a Judith March dress. I paired it with a fun hat, I also found at Forever 21 a few months back and my favorite Zacasha tassel necklaces. What do y’all think of this look?
Happy FriYAY, y’all! It is officially the weekend and time for me to head to Atlanta for a mini getaway and a whole lot of shopping.
I am bringing you an easy, breezy, chic, summertime outfit (say that five times fast) and quit possibly my favorite look of June so far. I don’t know if its my mood or the Ray Lamontagne songs I have on repeat lately but boho vibes have definalty been showing up in my outfits, this one especially. I hope everyone has a well deserved, fantastic weekend. If you would like to keep up with me and my weekend adventure to Hotlanta, go follow me on Instagram-Kasrevell. Happy weekend(;

Hi ya’ll! I sure hope this week is treating you fabulously, mine is sure off to a great start. I am especially excited to share this look with y’all because it is the kind of outfit you will find me in most days (yesterdays curls, a comfy dress, and a big bag). As you know I love a great dress and I made this gorgeous printed dress more “everyday” by pairing it with the right accessories. This Judy Blue denim vest is one of the most worn items in my closet and helps make this dress more casual. I paired simple gold accessories with this outfit like my monogram necklace, FSU and my birthstone Alex & Ani bracelets…I love that they are all meaningful in some way.
Happy June ya’ll!! I cannot believe how fast the month of May flew by, but what a wonderful month it was. I don’t think I have ever been this busy in my life, I literally didn’t have time to brush my hair yesterday morning before I had to be out the door again. I have been running crazy all month but have finally found some time to dedicate to my much loved blog. Which brings me to this post…Do you ever have an outfit you love so much you wish you could put it on repeat and re-wear it over and over without being judged?? For me, this outfit is it. When I said I live in comfy dresses in the summer, I wasn’t lying and this one takes the cake. I can’t lie to you guys, I DO NOT EVER wear heels, i’m 5’9 so I don’t really see the point but this outfit called for chunky cognac wedges. I love a pretty print and something about an off the shoulder dress makes me feel so girly and sexy. So what do y’all think of this outfit? What are your summer staples and how do you dress them up or down? I wanna know.
